Javier Marín-López earned his PhD in musicology from the University of Granada and is currently tenured professor (Profesor Titular) at the University of Jaén. He is author of Los libros de polifonía de la Catedral de México. Estudio y catálogo crítico (2012), and editor and coauthor of Músicas coloniales a debate. Procesos de intercambio euroamericanos (2018), El villancico en la encrucijada: nuevas perspectivas en torno a un género literario-musical (ss. XV-XIX) (2019) y De Nueva España a México: el universo musical mexicano entre centenarios (1517-1917) (2020). He is also codirector of the outgoing series of critical editions “Ignacio Jerusalem (1707-1769). Selected Works” and has published numerous articles and studies on Spanish and colonial Latin American Music. Currently is the editor of Revista de Musicología and artistic director of the Festival de Música Antigua de Úbeda y Baeza (FeMAUB).
