Jane Hardie (AU) earned her PhD in musicology at the University of Michigan (1983) and is currently an honorary associate at the Medieval and Early Modern Centre at the University of Sydney. Following her master’s degree at the University of Melbourne, she pursued graduate study at Cornell University (1966–69). In addition to her PhD in musicology (Early Modern Iberian Studies), she earned an MSc in library science at Wayne State University (1972), and subsequently taught rare books at the School of Library Science at the University of Michigan (1974–80). On returning to Australia she devised and initiated a musicology program at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music (1981). She was a Fulbright Senior Scholar at Harvard University (1999–2000). She has published widely on medieval and early modern Iberian liturgical music and source studies, and is now combining her expertise in rare books and musicology in the publication on a collection of Spanish manuscripts at Sydney University.
