Dörte Schmidt

Dörte Schmidt is Professor of Musicology at the Berlin University of the Arts and currently President of the German Society for Musicology. Her research focuses on music theater, the cultural history of music, and music of the 20th and 21st centuries. Among other things, she directs the Bernd Alois Zimmermann Complete Edition under the auspices of the Berlin Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities and the Academy of Sciences and Literature Mainz, and is currently conducting research as a Senior Fellow at the Alfried Krupp Wissenschaftskolleg Greifswald.
