Christopher Reynolds (US) received his PhD from Princeton University. His article, “Porgy and Bess: An ‘American Wozzeck’,” in the Journal of the Society for American Music (2007), won awards from the American Musicological Society and the Kurt Weill Foundation. His latest book is Wagner, Schumann, and the Lessons of Beethoven’s Ninth (2015). Reynolds has held visiting professorships at Yale, Stanford, and UC Berkeley, at the University of Heidelberg and the University of Göttingen, and in Florence at the Villa I Tatti. He has been editor of the AMS Studies in Music monograph series published with Oxford University Press, and was a founding editor of Beethoven Forum. Reynolds served as president of the AMS for the years 2013 and 2014. He was recently elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences (2016).
