ESIM2025
EUROPEAN SUMMER SCHOOL OF INTERNAL MEDICINE
1-7 June 2025
Alexandroupolis
Greece

Dear Colleagues,

It is with great pleasure to invite you to the European School of Internal Medicine (ESIM), Summer School 2025 that will be hosted by the First Department of Internal Medicine, Democritus University of Thrace (DUTH), Alexandroupolis, Greece. The School will be held between 1-7 June 2025 at the Astir Egnatia Hotel and the University Hospital of Alexandroupolis.

Extensive effort has been put in crafting a both comprehensive and engaging program for attending young internists. This will feature key topics relevant to current medical practice and selected challenging clinical problems, presented by leading experts in the respective fields of Internal Medicine. Furthermore, a series of interactive learning cases and hands-on workshops will require active participation from attendees, reinforcing practical skills necessary for the everyday practice of the Internist. Importantly, a primary goal of the Summer School is to foster a strong team spirit during the planned social events and leisure breaks, all set against the picturesque landscape and the vibrant culture of Greece. The host city, Alexandroupolis, combines the features of a multicultural and highly academic environment with those of a lively seaside destination.

We intend to accept up to 50 residents at the Summer School from EFIM member countries. The residents should be at the end of their training in Internal Medicine and have a good understanding of the English language.

We aim for the content and structure of Summer School to exceed the expectations of aspiring Internists, not only providing opportunities for fertile discussion and exchange among students and faculty members, but also the frame for future scientific collaborations and lasting friendships.

We eagerly look forward to welcoming you to our city and university!

Yours Sincerely,

Panagiotis Skendros, MD, PhD, FEFIM
