We invite all authors to submit their abstracts using the Microplastics Abstract Submission Form.

Important Dates

Open call for paper abstracts: 4 March  2022

Deadline for paper abstracts: 1 April 2022

Notification of acceptance: 6 April 2022

The Abstract Guidelines are the following:

• Abstracts can be up to 350 words long, excluding title, authors and affiliations
• Authors can choose 6 of the following discussion sessions:
1. Aqueous environments: Particle dynamics and measurements
2. Soils and sediment: Particle dynamics and measurements
3. Ecotoxicity: Exposures, particle characterization, endpoints, additives
4. Characterization methods: spectroscopic vs thermal, size evaluation, mass
5. Analysis of plastic additives, co-contaminants (leaching, sorption, etc.)
6. Nanoplastics
7. Reference materials / test materials
8. Physical and chemical aging processes
9. Plastic (bio)degradation in the environment
10. Macroplastic
11. Plastics policy and public outreach
• Each student will also need to provide a further writing sample (e.g., manuscript introduction, methods and results, etc.) for the Writing Café. With the acceptance email, further details will be sent on what should be included.
