Dr. Ludmila Prokunina-Olsson is Chief of the Laboratory of Translational Genomics, Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics, National Cancer Institute in Rockville, Maryland, USA. She studies human genetics and genomics of cancer and immunity. Her work includes studies on genetics of PD1 in autoimmune diseases and discovery and functional work on IFNL4, a genetically controlled type III interferon. Her recent work includes the discovery of dACE2, a truncated non-receptor form of ACE2, the SARS-CoV2-receptor. She also works on genetics and genomics of severe COVID-19.
