Heraklion, Crete, June 12-17, 2022 Hybrid Format
Dear registrants of COV11 and members of the volcanological community,
the COV11 Local Organizing Committee (LOC), CAV Commissioners and the IAVCEI Executive Committee are happy to announce you the official schedule for abstract submission and registration to the COV11 Conference that will be held on June 12-17, 2022 in Heraklion, Crete.
This new schedule is as follows:
Also programmed are pre- and post-conference field trips on active volcanoes of the Hellenic arc (Methana, Nisyros, Santorini, Milos and Psiloritis). June 17 will be devoted to visits of the Archeological Museum and Knossos site.
After two post-postponements forced by the Covid pandemic, we deeply thank all those who decided to maintain their previous registration and abstract submission (as of today, 437 previously accepted abstracts will either be maintained, updated or revised).
Cities on Volcanoes Conferences typically promote networking and direct exchanges between volcanologists, emergency managers and stakeholders. Thanks to the progresses in anti-Covid vaccination, and given the high-level safety conditions warranted locally by the Greek LOC, we do expect and encourage the physical participation of most of you to COV11 in June 2022. 24 previously accepted travel grants were already re-confirmed.
Nevertheless, we are also ready to provide a high-quality virtual access to all those who would face traveling restrictions, sanitary or financial difficulties. COV11 will definitely occur in hybrid format in order to enable a maximum of interested members to participate.
See you numerous in beautiful Crete Island in June 2022 or/and virtually connected to COV11!
