Dr. Konstantinos Laskaris - Director of Motor Technology and Humanoid Robot Actuator Design Tesla, inc., United States
Dr. Konstantinos Laskaris joined Tesla in 2012 and currently is the lead design engineer for Tesla Humanoid robot actuators and the Director of Motor technology. He received his diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), his master’s degree in Communications and Signal Processing from the Imperial College London, UK, and his PhD in Electric Motor geometry optimization for variable speed drives from the NTUA, Greece. Some of his most significant work at Tesla includes the design of traction motors for all vehicles since 2012, the in- house development of the powertrain design tools, as well as the actuator systems of the Tesla humanoid robot. His research interests include physics modeling of powertrain components, parametric design, loss modeling and optimization using supercomputers.
Dr. Manolis Mavratzotis is a Chemical Engineer (NTUA) with a PhD in Organic Chemistry and an Executive MBA from the University of Bath. For over 24 years, he led R&D, Quality Control, and Regulatory Compliance at Sika Hellas, playing a key role in the development of advanced construction materials—including concrete admixtures, cementitious systems, and coatings—and in the design of high-standard laboratories and production units. Over the last 5–6 years, one of his main research focuses has been the application of 3D printing technologies in the construction sector, in close collaboration with Sika’s global 3D research team. Since October 2024, he holds the position of Head of Innovation & Sustainability for Sika Area Europe East, where he leads regional strategy across multiple countries.
