Abstract submission guidelines

  • Abstracts can only be submitted electronically through the IALM 2020 Symposium website and online platform.
  • Acknowledgement of receipt of your submission will be sent to your stated email address.
  • Abstracts must be written in English.
  • Maximum 400 words excluding title and contact information of the authors.
  • A maximum of 2 figures can also be submitted; tables should also be uploaded as figures.
  • Each abstract should consist of the following sections: Objective (or Aim or Introduction), Methods, Results, Conclusion
  • It is the author's responsibility to submit a fully finalised abstract. Any errors in spelling, grammar or scientific facts will be reproduced as typed by the author.
  • You are allowed to be the presenting author of more than one abstract; three (3) is the maximum number of abstracts that can be presented by the same author.
  • During submission, you will be asked to choose your preference of thematic for presentation from a drop-down list. The Scientific Committee reserves the right to allocate your abstract in a different thematic, according to Program needs.
  • You are allowed to be a co-author of an unlimited number of abstracts.
  • Submission of closely related abstracts from the same group is discouraged.
  • Abstracts will only be considered for presentation if they are not published or submitted for presentation elsewhere.
  • Abstract presenters must register for the IALM 2020 Symposium and pay the registration fee for attendance of the scientific sessions.
  • Oral Presentations: 15-minute time slot
  • Posters to be presented as e-Posters (details to follow).
  • The corresponding author is responsible for informing other authors about the status of the abstract.
  • The maximum file size of each graph is 5MB. The minimum resolution has been set to 300 dpi. Images should be submitted in JPG, GIF or PNG format only.


Notification of Acceptance

Notification of acceptance or rejection of the abstract will be sent to the corresponding author of the abstract by March 20, 2020.

Accepted abstracts will be considered for oral or poster presentation.

The corresponding author receives all information concerning the abstract and is responsible for informing all other co-authors of the status of the abstract.

All abstract presenters will be asked to reconfirm their attendance after receiving the notification.

Submission Terms

  1. By submitting an abstract, submitters understand that their abstract, including names, is stored electronically and will be published by the Organizing Committee on the IALM 2020 Symposium website, Final Program and/or Abstract Book.
  2. No trade names of products are allowed in oral or poster presentation titles. Non-proprietary (generic, chemical) names of substances should be used. Company names can be used in the authors affiliation and as a source to a material mentioned in the body of the abstract.
  3. Abstracts will be assessed by an expert panel of reviewers. Acceptance of the submitted work is at the discretion of the Scientific Committee.
  4. The corresponding author receives all correspondence concerning the abstract, and is responsible for informing all co-authors of the status of the abstract.The presenting author of an abstract must register for the Symposium by the given deadline. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to exclude from the Program and/or Abstract Book abstracts for which registration is not duly completed within the deadline advised.
  5. Duplication of publication: IALM does not accept re-submission; abstracts must correspond to original, previously unpublished work. By submitting an abstract the submitter confirms that he/she has not presented/plans to present and publish the abstract at another meeting, and that he/she has not submitted/published the full paper.
  6. Declaration of Conflict of Interest: IALM is committed to ensuring the integrity of its scientific, educational, and research programs. Abstract submission requires disclosure of any financial or other interest that might be construed as resulting in an actual, potential, or apparent conflict. The submitter is responsible for obtaining disclosure information from all co-authors, as well as for stating any potential conflict of interest during abstract submission.
