Anna Batistatou, MD, PhD,

Dr. Anna Batistatou is Professor of Pathology, Director of the Department of Pathology, Chair of the Department of Medicine, School of Health Sciences, University of Ioannina and President of the Hellenic Society of Pathology. She received her MD degree from the University of Patras Medical School (1988). Her postgraduate studies are: MA (1990), MPhil (1990) and PhD (1993) at Columbia University in the City of New York, GSAS. Dr. Batistatou has continuous diagnostic and research activities. Her research interests focus on molecular pathogenesis of malignant neoplasms and the study of prognostic and predictive markers, mainly on tissues from patients with neoplasia. Her publications include thirty-two chapters in National and International Books, 24 papers in National and 202 in International Journals. The total impact factor of her publications is 457, the citations are 3779 (Scopus) and the h-index is 32. Dr. Batistatou is also National representative of Greece in UEMS Specialist Section of Pathology/European Board of Pathology, Member of the Educational Committee and of the Advisory Board of European Society of Pathology.
