Dear colleagues,
This 3 days hybrid course is offered to 24 Pulmonologists or senior fellows in Pulmonology already experienced with standard flexible Bronchoscopy who wish to gain more ample experience with advanced interventional modalities for the diagnostic approach to central and peripheral airways, the lung and the mediastinum as well as with therapeutic procedures both for malignant and benign central airway obstruction, COPD, Asthma, foreign body removal and bleeding management. The whole course will be live broadcast at the bronchoscopy.gr web/tv platform and on line participants will be able to interact with faculty and on site participants.
During the course, both physically present and web based participants will have the opportunity to attend didactic lectures and live procedures in relevant clinical cases performed by IP experts while on site participants will be offered extensive hands-on training based on high fidelity simulators and realistic models. Implementing competence assessment tools for each respective modality (EBUS, Rigid Bronchoscopy, electro-cryo techniques etc) will allow participants to observe their progress during the course and faculty members to evaluate the didactic value of the training intervention.
This course will be a first step to familiarize participants with the Interventional Pulmonology (IP) field curriculum and will hopefully pave the way for future long term IP Fellowship Programs which are under way in Europe.
