Overview
Empowering Dental Education: Integrating Generative AI on Dental (Cariology) Education
Details
This educational program aims to familiarize participants with the application of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) in the field of dental education, with an emphasis on teaching cariology.
The program will begin with an opening lecture discussing the transformative potential of GenAI in dental student education.
Subsequently, a discussion of GenAI’s use in various dental schools globally will be presented, alongside demonstrations of its practical application in the University of Michigan's dental curriculum.
Following the coffee break, participants will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on activities that offer real-world experience in using GenAI tools for tasks such as crafting learning objectives, designing engaging presentations, creating illustrative slides and images, developing clinical teaching scenarios, composing exam questions, and using GenAI as an editor to assist you in writing research manuscripts.
Participants are invited to bring their laptops and set up accounts on ChatGPT, Microsoft Office 365, and Adobe Firefly, which are available for use either gratuitously or through free trial offerings, ensuring full participation in the interactive exercises.
