This educational program aims to familiarize participants with the application of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) in the field of dental education. The program will begin with an opening lecture discussing the transformative potential of GenAI for training dental students. This will be followed by a second presentation showcasing actual use of GenAI at the University of Michigan within the dental academic curriculum. After a coffee break, participants will engage in various concurrent hands-on workshops designed to provide practical experience with GenAI tools in areas such as course development, creation of clinical scenarios, formulation of examination questions, grading, the integration of chatbots, etc. Attendees are encouraged to cycle through multiple workshops to maximize their learning experience and are required to bring their laptops to effectively engage in the interactive exercises.
